Got in my Exige this morning and thought that something didn't seem quite right. It smelled a little odd - stale/musty. I pulled off the drive and heard sloshing sounds - then noticed that the driver and passenger side foot-wells had a good couple of inches of water in them. Carpets are all completely saturated. It's taken me about half an hour to get most of the tub dried up. Carpets under the seats are still soaking.

No obvious leaks from anywhere - the seats and door panels are all completely dry.

Rang the dealer and Friday is the earliest appointment.

Anyone else had this problem? I'm really not sure where to start looking and just praying that the weather stays dry until I can get it fixed.

Three months into ownership and this will be my second warranty claim. :(

S2, I'm assuming...

Have you had the roof off at all? Lotus will get twitchy about sorting anything warranty-wise.

If not, then you'll be fine. Probably round the top of the windscreen surround - two seals and a window intersecting - it's about the most vulnerable place.

Thanks Shug - that's what I thought. Can't see anything obvious though.

edit: No have never removed the roof.

I have found it a bit wet under the dash sometimes, either after rain, or using the air-con for ages. So don't know what it is..?

Update!!

Been down to Williams in Bristol today and problem diagnosed. The mechanic there is fantastic and has never let me down.

Problem was due to rain water pouring in through a seal in the pedal box. Big job to rectify - clam-off and then lots of awkward stuff.

I'm sure this is not going to be a common problem - weather conditions were very bad last weekend and I don't keep the car garaged (yet).
Warranty claim for Lotus and a full new set of carpets for me.

Just thought it was worthwhile updating everyone.

Rich.
