Which SONOS is this? How.....
Discussion
....do I connect it?
I don't know how to connect my phone to this SONOS gadget found in our new home. I can't find an instruction book and I see no model name.
I have the app but it cant pick this gadget up. I thiiink it connects with Bluetooth however it doesn't play anything.
There's no WiFi connect button and I assume I'll need a cable from the router?
Any suggestions? Thank you.

Yeah that should work.
I can't remember if the legacy sonos stuff needs to be connected by wire to the router or not. They certainly used to, at least of them did, the rest then connect to the others wirelessly.
I've got one of these and no they don't need to be physically connected to the router. You used to have to have a Sonos bridge plugged into your router but they did away with that requirement a while ago.I can't remember if the legacy sonos stuff needs to be connected by wire to the router or not. With the old Sonos equipnent at least one part of the system needed to be hard wired to your network, the rest would wirelessly mesh off that. If you do have a Bridge connected to your router then you'll be fine but if that Connect Amp is the only Sonos item you have then it needs to be plugged into your router (or a wifi extender).

It doesn't have bluetooth just line in. If you want to use bluetooth you will need a dongle such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Adapter-Streami... or plug your phone in via a headphone-lien in adapter,I don't know how to connect my phone to this SONOS gadget found in our new home. I used this when I used to use a Connect AMP at home - It's also quite laggy and was no good as an amp for a video setup as picture/sound was well out of sync. It worked well however with a stereo audio source for just music. .
The sub out has a fixed crossover frequency - 80Hz I think ...
S.
Google for the guide to resetting a connect amp to factory defaults and action accordingly.
Download the SONOS S1 App on a phone/tablet from the relevant app store.
Follow the instructions in the S1 App for adding a new device.
Add your Spotify/Deezer/Amazon Music etc. etc. as appropriate.

The S1 app can't find the unit. I'll try the Bluetooth dongle and see what's what.
Have you reset it to defaults?
How to factory reset a Sonos speaker
Unplug the Sonos speaker from the outlet.
Hold down the Play/Pause button while plugging the speaker back into the outlet.
Don't take your finger off that button. After a few seconds it will start flashing amber and white.
Once the reset is complete, the light will flash green.
What I'd do is confirm you're using the S1 Connect app (I know you already said you are, but, y'know, check because that Mute and Volume Up is a valid button press when it talks you through the 'do you see these buttons?' bit when configuring a system) and then pick the bugger up and network cable it into your router and try again.

Agree with this. Mine used to need a hard connection after being left off for a while (holiday) and then was fine over Wi-fi Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
