Before this I used to drive a mk1 mx-5 with some mods, but I had it for over 2.5 years so I decided it's time to make a change. I was thinking about s2k, but they are mad expensive + i feel like it's a miata on steroids and I wanted to try a different driving experience and I ended up with this.
It's N55 with a manual. The previous owner changed the charge pipe, spark plugs are from M2 and the IC is a wagner + he gave me the vrsf downpipe.
The suspension needed changing so I've decided to go for bilstein b8 + m sport springs.

Currently the car has a stock downpipe and m performance exhaust, the guy before me was using MHD. I think I'll go for the vrsf dp, but I'm wondering what's better - custom remap or mhd?

I'll post some pics when I have the car back smile

I've just made a similar move from a mk3 2.0 Mx5 into a M235i with the same N55 engine, last month I fitted downpipes, CSF intercooler, colder plugs, uprated boost pipes and finished it off with MHD stage 2+ map which is supposedly good for 420ish bhp. I've logged the car and fuelling is spot on and all boost targets are met, it goes like stink now. I went with MHD over a custom tune as I plan on plenty of road trips abroad next year so wanted switchable maps for different fuel octanes which MHD offers. Previously used to have a stage 2+ MK6 Golf R and that was a right headache trying to find suitable fuel when road trips out in the sticks.

If you haven't already done so replace the plastic boost pipes for metal ones as they WILL fail as some point and I'd also strongly suggest buying the XHP stage 3 map for the transmission as that was by far the best mod yet, feels also DCT now with lightening fast changes.

Get some pics up smile
