just off the back of the post about the recent re-discovery of NLX in the scrapyard, heres a few bits and pieces I dug up when I was researching the first 390se's a while ago...

First, the original '84 motor show car, believed to be the car bought by Barry Zee and then modified to full 'wide body' ...

Now being restored in East Kent ..

sorry - I made it sound like some 'official' option ! My understanding (anyone correct me if wrong..) is that Barry Zee bought the car off the Motorshow stand and then had TVR modify it to add the bulged arches (and wider rims ?) as shown in the pics above ..

..lastly worth a mention is B 402 WFV , registered 19/2/85 - the factory 'A-frame' development 390se that Fastlane magazine famously ran as a staff car in 1985 - owned by Michael 'Streaky' on PH back in the day ... the car disappeared for a while and I then found out that Michael bought the car back with a view to restoring it - ended up being re-registered as PIL 7720 ...

Link to original post when he bought it ... https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Great! yes the bulgy wheel arches, they must add 3 inches to the width :-)

Are you a collector of various/all wedge articles? I once saw my 350i in a classic car mag road test way before I bought it, but now I can't find it. Just in case, it's a silver one reg c401 ayg.
