Hi All,

How would I know if a E92 M3 competition is actually a M3 competition?

Is there a way to check by vin code or certain body differences or anything i can check?

Looking at one to purchase and the seller states its a competition model but doesnt look any different.

The wheels should be the clearest indicator as they are CSL style (359), they sit 10mm lower (but that's hard to see) the other changes are under the skin DSC changes etc.. a CP car will always have EDC (but that was option anyway)

If you put the VIN into a decoder it will have the competition package listed if it is one.

BMW Customer Services are probably your best bet. 0800 325 6000.

If you have a registration number or chassis number they should be able to give you the exact spec of the car and also confirm the service history.

Hence the advice to check the VIN.

10mm lower suspension
EDC (Electronic Damper Control) with different settings than the non-competition cars with EDC

Basically all focussed on improving handling.

If you have a non-competition pack car with EDC then you can code in the comp pack settings.
