Sky Q and Mini box. What do I need?
Discussion
Hello
As the title, Currently have Sky Q on TV in living room in front of house, dish is on front of the house. Son has passed me on his 43 Samsung TV which his mum would like put on wall in the Kitchen/Diner in the rear of the house.
My question is how do i get the TV in the Kitchen able to receive Sky content?
What kit do i need ? Mini box? Do i have to buy from Sky or are they available elsewhere ? How does that connect ? WIFI? Long cable through or over the roof to the front of house??
Any Help or advise would be great

You need a Mini Box and to connect to the same WiFi network as the SkyQ box is on.
If the WiFi signal isn’t strong enough you can request a Sky Booster. If that still doesn’t work then a really, really long Ethernet cable from the SkyQ box all the way to the Mini Box.
As our house is very old and has solid stone walls we had to opt for a 30m Ethernet cable.

Thanks everyone for the response, Looks like a minibox from sky is the answer. Does anyone know if its a through the post job or need to book a Sky engineer at the same time?
Thanks.
Self set-up. It walks you through how to add the min Q boxesThanks.

Do you have a Mesh set up for your wifi? Our mini box worked flawlessly with our old set up. Since we replaced with a Netgear Orbi, it continuously disconnects. If an engineer is offered, I’d use them and make it their problem to resolve any issues.
Same. I use Google mesh wifi (it’s crap) and Sky Q never liked it. Sky came and fitted a “booster” aka be of their routers. Sort of defeats the purpose of meshGassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
