16/24/87 Aeroplanes?

I live in the junction between Charente, Dordogne and Haute Vienne.

For the last month or so, when I walk the dog in the morning (9-10am ish), there's a continual noise which sounds like aircraft climbing and diving, or doing loop-the-loops. There's nothing visible in the sky, but I can't think what else the sound is.

Any ideas?
