Seriously quick E-34 M5...
Discussion
This car is insane. The sound it makes is godlike. I saw, and more importantly heard it on a trackdy a couple of weeks ago (Gatebil @ Rudskogen in Norway) It did a smokey start and kept it's wheels spinning down the whole straght....
Read more about it on the car's homepage www.vsmotor.no/en_index.html

Definately my favourite shape BMW, the E34. The M5 is absolutely timeless, especially with something bonkers under the bonnet.
oh yes, and look how many other car makers copy it, the thing looks like a proper car
Got to agree with you both there gents. Had a 'play' with a 3.8 E34 a few years ago now and must say, it was devastating! And for a car not much smaller than the QEII it handled bloody brilliantly. A long way off an Elise mind you, but remarkably poised for such a great hulk.
Effortless pace too. Though not as searingly rapid as the E34 Alpina B10 Bi Turbo - the Baghdaddy in my humble 'o' - I should imagine that that not unsubstantial sized rotary induction/force feeding device helps a bit.
Hmmm, funny how one's definition of bulk changes, innit? I've been in California for the last week, punting around with a colleague in a brand new Cadillac Deville. To sum up: it's shite. In all ways. To call it barge-like would be to insult the handling finesse and general alacrity of barges.
By comparison, my 540i felt like a lithe, nimble hot hatch.
(Edited to remove a superfluous "by comparison". Jatlag? Oh aye)
