Hello everyone!

I have a Giulietta QV (1750TBi) that needs the timing belt done. This is the first Alfa I've owned in a while - is it still prudent to do the water pump and variator at the same time? Is the variator still a thing?

More importantly, can anyone recommend a specialist in the Midlands? I'm based near Coalville, Leicestershire but happy to travel a bit for the right place.

Thanks!

Simply Alfas in Stourbridge seem to have a good reputation, haven't used them myself though.

I haven't got a Giuletta so not sure what the advice is on water pump, tensioners etc - I changed the lot on my 156 (plus the balance shaft belt, don't know if your car has one) for peace of mind.

edit: My car has a variator but it wasn't noisy so didn't change it this time. Next time!

Dave at Intaservices, Abbey Lane, Leicester. He's got a small workshop behind Raj Motors. Dave has worked on Alfas since the late 70's when he worked at Glebe Road Garage in Leicester. He's old school and extremely knowledgeable. Tel: 0116 266 9498.

Dave looks after my Giulietta & Brera both of which are TBI's.

I'd second this ... But obviously it's not just down the road from Coalville unfortunately.

Got it done here. Quicker and cheaper than expected. Very pleased, highly recommended
