It's tyre replacement time for my 991.1 GT3, all 7 years old and worn. Trouble is, I don’t really like the Pilot Sport Cups, useless in the wet. OPC Tewkesbury are quoting something like 420 each for the rears in any case and I favour switching to the Pilot Sport 4S which are a bit more “normal”.

Question is, where to find someone who can fit them. You can buy on BlackCircles or ProTyre but the dozen or fitting places I have called won’t touch Porsche Centrelocks. They truly are a Pain in the Proverbial. The only people I’ve found is Micheldever who are the original ProTyre but they are some distance away.

Anyone know anywhere else, I’m in the Cotswolds.

If you fancy a trip to The Chilterns Black Boots in Chesham have all the equipment and have done mine….very thorough and they have two people working on the car double checking everything.

Thanks, that’s very useful, about £1110 for a fresh set of boots…

I spoke to local OPC and they got very close in price to the cheapest internet fitter when I changed all 4 to PS4s. Easy decision to make, especially if you have complicating bits like centrelocks or PCCBs. Give them a try and see

Yes I will. I’m still reeling from being quoted £1800 for my 991.1 GT3 service and £2300 for my 991.2 GT3 service…

Another vote for your OPC. Price wise they’ll probably get pretty close to black circles and the like, and obviously will have the tops for the centre locks.
