Well new to me. I rarely use Auchinairn Rd on the Glasgow/Bishopbriggs boundary but driving along it tonight at work my colleague informed me he had two tickets for 43 and 46 in a 30 which arrived the same day. Numerous other locals caught out as well.

First time I've seen average speed cameras in an urban setting.

They work though. Everyone driving at 28-30mph.

East Dunbartonshire joint council leader Andrew Polson said: "East Dunbartonshire Council takes road safety extremely seriously and we welcome the installation of an average speed camera system, which aims to see a reduction in the number of accidents and improve driver behaviour."

Does taking road safety extremely seriously not extend to upkeep of the road surface itself then, just revenue earning opportunities?

Some SPECS cameras seem to have sprung up on the M8 near J25. Not sure if they’re to enforce the 50/40 limit through the centre or if they’re for something west of there. Not noticed a matching set of cameras either east of the 40 section or on the M74, so possibly it’s for something to the west.

For the roadworks? From Monday M8 down to 2 lanes each way Brahead to Cardonald until the end of June. Woohoo!

Thank fk I only need to use that stretch when I'm working. For some reason I can write off traffic jam time mentally if it isn' my own time being wasted.

That would explain it. SPECS seems a bit redundant seeing as most of the day it’ll probably be a solid queue westbound from about Provan to Braehead and eastbound from Arkleston or the airport to Port Dundas or J1 of the M74. Maybe they should dig up a chunk of the M74 to complete the set.

Hi. Just joined. Not sure if I am replying properly. I got one off these fines letter says was doing 43. Surprise surprise eh. Apperently 43. Is the start off the higher bracket for 6 points. As a pose to 42 being more likely 3 points. But letter requested who was driving details. Must be filled out 28 days. The 28 days are running out. And although I filled out the letter I lost it before sending it off. Do u know the contact number to contact the camera team is someone has got the letter and the phone number is on it. Would be appreciated if someone can reply with this phone number. Said I was vehicle beech road. So its phone number regarding that area for cameras thanks
