I was there -it's my local. I normally avoid the crowds at BTCC meetings in favour of other motorsport stuff but enjoyed yesterday . For big , heavy cars BTCC cars are surprisingly quick and make quite a spectacle on track , with some maximum attack driving , especially at Clervaux. Very impressed with Jake Hill , who looked in a different league to many , with sublime car control .It's a shame the cars make such a god awful noise - high volume but low quality .

Saw the biggest shunt of my year - a high flying Mini rolling skywards out of the chicane but driver mercifully ok. It was a big one.

F4 ? God above , much as I Iove single seaters , these cars drone around in formation for 20 minutes but it feels much , much longer . I saw one overtake. They need twice the power or half the grip. Or both ..

Looking forward to today - rain will make it very spicy

Totally agree with your observations, Taylor Smith was also flying into that first corner, should be good today. The mini crash was crazy, not too sure what happened but turned to see it barrel rolling through the air.

F4 was horrendous, just a procession almost, although I appreciate they are actually racing.

Looking forward to the porsches too.

Will be supporting Moffat in the first one as Scottish, I really hope he can keep P1 and finish P1 but my gut thinks it's too tall an order and he is going to get swallowed into the pack.

Can't wait!

Forgot to add that the 4 tyre stack at the chicane must have caused thousands in damage yesterday, so many hitting it, it doesn't budge either!

Good for moffat been struggling a bit with the car of late so looks like the hard work from the team including ash helping Aiden has worked.
Can see Turks being his usual self and closing the gap too ash this weekend.

So Plato is there this weekend then. Thought he might have been absent.

Watching Proctor flashing his lights from 3rd position in a bid (presumably) to distract Hill in 2nd. You see this quite a lot and always strikes me as a bit of an unprofessional thing to do and would mark you out as a bit of a prat. Unless you are genuinely faster and / or lapping of course when it is entirely appropriate.

He's had a very quiet season, almost anonymous by his standards.

He just made a case for the ‘best how the hell did he not hit anything there’ award.
(I think one of the markers or cones was stuck under his wheel though, I imagine that was scary if that’s what caused it).

Diabolical....
Tyres: Get rid..
Tractor / Marshals on Track ( Remember Bianchi)
Plato... big off & no barriers.

Needs to be sorted before next year please.

Keep the chassis / spec etc.... but remove the aero
( Akin to the original Formula Fords)

Then... add aero
( Like FF2000’s)

15 cars... not exactly big numbers for a premier national championship.
Porsche’s used to bore me... but more exciting this year.

I believe croft have a licence to a live lift (I think that's what it's called) agree on those tyres though, jeez they caused some damage.

Good weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it.

So did I.

Presumably taking painkillers as I imagine his nose is still sore.

The first corner at Croft is licenced for "live snatches" (Removing cars from the gravel trap without a safety car) under certain circumstances

Where Plato went off there was a barrier, he just didn't get far enough to hit it. The safety vehicles are parked further back than the camera angle shows.

My local track too about 20 mins away. I went Sat for qualifying and spent a lot of time watching the crews in the pits, Croft is great for getting in close to the action as there were too many teams and not enough garages. Easy to get in and get out and not too busy. Decided to watch live on tv Sunday.

I was watching Team Hard servicing their 4 cars during free practice and qualifying. Very interesting. Nick Hamilton’s car got progressively damaged throughout the day with his spins, bumps and crashes and eventually came back on a low loader.

I’m so impressed with Jade Edwards making the jump from Fiestas to Touring Cars. She was in the top 20 until she had issues with the Civic. Turkington is super smooth around Croft, Aaron Taylor-Smith so quick at turn 1. Class acts of the weekend were Moffat and Hill with Ash Sutton improving with every race.

Yes I wondered this too a couple of posts above but nobody answered, what went on with Plato? By the sounds of it something happened to him before the event, but can't find any info about it. I saw him have a big spin in the race but no shunt or anything.
