I know this has been discussed on here quite a few times. I managed to blow my exhaust last night so its a good excuse to upgrade it earlier than i was going to.

within a realistic price range & in terms of improving the flow & noise, whats the best on the market at the moment?

I've heard the Janspeed which sounded very good but not sure whether a more specialist one would be better,

PS: The stage one & stage 2 exhausts are they just for the S2 or do they do them for the S1 as well?

i've ordered a Larini for my S1, should be arriving monday so I'll let you know what it's like.

people with S2's seem to recommend them!

The Elise parts exhaust sounds amazing with silenced de cat and k&n, not too noisy on the motor way and i do a few miles!

Another vote for the Elise Parts exhaust, sounds sooo much better than the original; I have noticed my fuel consumption increase since fitting since I hold onto each gear longer for the aural experience.

Stage 1 and Stage 2 are only for the Toyota powered cars IIRC

I would go with the Eliseparts as well. Had one on my old S1 and it was absolutely fantastic. Very well made and sounds nice and throaty at low revs, screams at high revs but isnt boomy at motorway speeds.

Coupled with a good induction system like a ITG, Hurricane or even a K&N it's the best sound you can buy IMO.

I would leave the cat in though otherwise it will be too loud.

cats already gone but very very rarely use on motorways as mostly it b roads so droning wouldnt bother me at all.

From what I have been told its between the Larini, Eliseparts & Janspeed, so on these, how do they look? (tailpipe wise, as i saw one which looked all wrong as they were off centre & didnt poke out far enough)& sound wise? louder the better!

Yup, mine is an Eliseparts too. Quite an impressive note and a decent (perceived) helping of whallop. I'll be getting another one if/when it needs replacing.

That shouldnt be for quite a while as its stainless steel and is also re packable.
