Spine tingling. I can't wait to hear it with my own ears. I found an old camcorder tape recently containing video from an early Silverstone Classic. I was watching a parade of F1 cars going by the old pits, when one of these fired up in the garages, drowning out the sound of every single F1 car blasting by on track! Unreal.
I have changed my opinion in best noises.
For me the 5 litre V12 in the Ferrari Le Mans cars is now the best of that era, closely followed by things like the 917, Ferrari V12 F1 engine, early DFV.
I also love the 80's turbo cars for their brutality, so to hear one of those being driven in era or properly now they sound fabulous, DFV's in a group are a bit meh for me I am afraid.
But also anything with big boost so rallycross, continental hillclimber cars, even diesels can sound good with that peaky power delivery, I enjoy that sort of sound.
