I have been watching this market for sometime and the cars are not selling very
well is it due to the pricing of the cars or other problems ?

Which NSX are you talking about?

Manual NA1 & NA2 cars?
NA1 automatics?
NC1 hybrids?

Generally, manual cars are more sought after, and seem to be selling (with the exception of the car in Hong Kong, which has been on PH for years).

The NC1 hybrid is a rare beast, having been effectively discontinued a couple of years ago for the UK, and the used market is still at an early stage and could either slump, or go stratospheric in time - who knows?

I was looking to buy the latest hybrid type. The prices are too high at present and I assume that
Is why the cars are not moving

Are these the ones that can only be Honda serviced in London? That’s got to influence the market.

I think that the NC1 can only get more expensive, as they are (now - that wasn't the case at launch) well thought of, out of production and were made in very small numbers in RHD.
They might not be selling quickly now, but in this very small market sector few (if any) will be distress sales and can wait for the market to meet their expectations, rather than the other way around. The only potential disrupters (similar tech cars) are all more expensive so far, and the next generation of NSX is a very long way off...
I don't expect this Hybrid version of the NSX to dip to the (relatively) affordable levels that the NA NSX was at 10 years ago, sorry - the market is more sophisticated and accepting that badge isn't everything.

What kills it for me is having to travel down to London each year to get the car serviced which is
A 300 mile round trip. Should have been a garage up north and may be the cars would be more
Popular in this region.

I think the latest NSX is a beautiful car but repairs are expensive and servicing is Honda only with two options in London ... when I last looked.

The original NSX is something else smile

I considered the NSX for a short time but servicing in London 250 miles away, and a questionable interior was enough to kill the idea, disappointing since we live about 3 miles from a fantastic Honda dealer.

Whilst I'm inclined to agree with dobly, especially as all who've owned the car say how good it is to drive, the whole "one dealer" thing really does put a crimp in it for many buyers.

Yes, I'm sure they'll collect it from you and return it...and that's all very well for mainstream servicing, but what about diagnostics and potential warranty work? What's the charge for the collect/deliver service e.g. if they can't find the fault? Or if it's not covered by warranty? Or if the part required is on back-order for a month and "do you want the car in the meantime sir"?

I can also see this becoming yet another car that you won't want to run without a warranty...and unlike the many Porsche and Ferrari specialists out there to help out as the car ages, there's literally no-one else going to know how to fix some of this car.

...which is a f'n shame, as it really does deserve better.

The only thing "questionable" about the interior from what I can tell are the paddle shifters (which make an unsatisfactory click) and the infotainment system which is small, slow and old, but at least has fruit & robot compatibility (not sure if wired or wireless).
As for servicing, I can't find anything (now - I'm sure it used to be up on the Honda website when the car was "current") that says whether the servicing transportation is transferable to a new owner or not. I seem to remember that it was included as part of ownership. All I can see now is that the first owner will have been given a card with concierge contact details for servicing etc.

I have had the NSX from new and have had all the services done in London. It has not been a problem at all and has worked really well with Honda collecting.
However, after three years I have been informed by Honda that they will not offer an extended warranty, despite me having it in writing when I bought the car, that they would.
I have loved the NSX, its a fantastic car, but this has certainly put me off buying any other Honda.
The garage I use has said Honda will look at any future faults on a case by case basis, but that doesnt really fill me with confidence.
The car has been faultless during the three years and 21k miles I have done in it, but I am not sure what will now happen if faults occur in the future.
I feel its a very poor decision on Hondas part that has destroyed any loyalty I have had had with this brand.
It also means I have to drive the 2 hrs to London, wait around while they do a service, then drive back. Not good at all

I have done 18,000 in mine and echo everything you have experienced, and I would not buy another one.

Leaving aside the servicing, if a fault develops I have to get the car to them using a transporter and get it back again (600 mile round trip) . I had the front indicator go and had it driven down at night couldn't be done at a local Honda dealer as Honda will only supply the parts to Crown Honda. Also had the car off the road for four weeks waiting for a damaged suspension cover to come in from the US ( £2k - for that part and £2.5k for the headlight)

I believe they have sold in total some 120 cars UK but a large proportion are on SWORN you and I have done probably more miles than anyone else

Difficult to know what the car is worth to sell, what they are advertised for and what they sell for may be quite different but I would bow out if the price offered was in the midish eighties

It is transferable, I bought mine with 1500 miles on the clock and the next two services were done by Honda without cost - you simply contact Crown Honda and send them evidence of your ownership

For how long though?

First 3 years?

First 5?

10?

...and what happens after? As I said above, how much?!?

it was for the first three services and they paid the collection costs and the servicing costs

The last service cost me about £1k but with a new headlight and a suspension cover cost me £5k in total

I was advised that the extended warranty cost £12.5k for three years, but I believe is not available

a very low mileage car is around £100k but the servicing costs and repair costs are typical of a car costing a great deal more. There is no fun in owning these types of car if the servicing costs or repairs would cause you financial pain - when I was young, I bought cars which in truth I could not afford to run, there is no fun in constantly worrying about such costs.

Matters are different for me now, but I am now becoming very cynical about these costs of ICE cars, particularly when I hear what the servicing costs and reliability are of a pure electric car even more so when the performance figures of a pure electric car are about the same as a NSX

It is possible to get a warranty, it's just not a Honda one, and yes after the 3 years you will have to take it to London yourself. (Or pay to have it taken).

I know I would rather have one of these than what ever some youtuber or tiktoker has just had rapped in their latest instagram post!
