scraped my wing mirror.

During a jaunt at the weekend, while reversing into a very tight space and asking the gf to stand outside and see me in I managed to scrape my left hand wing mirror on my 911 (996 turbo) anyone have any ideas how much it is to replace? I did not have the heart to have a go at the missus as she was so sorry, and made up for the error in other ways :-)

If the mechanism is ok and it is only a "scrape" shouldn't it just be a resprayed mirror housing. Have a look in the back of 911 & PW, find a Porsche GB approved spray shop and give them a call.
Might be an idea to take just the mirror casing to them, then they won't do anything stupid like put your car down as accident damaged on Porsche GB's database. Remember to point out that it is YOU paying, but obviously if they do a good job you'll put any future insurance repairs their way (which you would anyway).

PS - You're not having an easytime with supercar ownership are you? Have you thought about getting a house with a double garage to clear up one of the problems.
