Bottas to Alfa Sauber. Hulkenberg to Williams. Fingers crossed...

May be the wrong thread for this but I’m not sure why Bottas would opt for Alfa over Williams unless the latter drive isn’t in the offering. Surely Williams have better long term prospects and seem to be on the ascent already.

Alfa are more likely to pay him the big bucks he's become accustomed to over the last few years. There's nothing to say that Williams was ever an option for Bottas anyway, and they may have completely different plans already.

Also, I think if you leave a company for something bigger and better then falling back to the first company when you get laid off cements the feeling of failure rather than moving on to somewhere new.

Kimi has obviously written that himself, rather than putting his name to something a PR has written for him like most sportspeople do. Good for him. I wish him well for the future, I’m sure he will keep racing something.

Ah, good old Kimi!

He's been around for so long! - most race starts of any driver ever (though Alonso isn't that far behind). I was surprised at his motivation for trundling around in the Alfa after he left Ferrari but he must have got something out of it! (Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing etc!)

So, presumably they wanted to let Kimi announce his retirement on his own terms before announcing Bottas.

George will go to Mercedes, obviously.

Word is that it’s Albon at Williams, alongside Latifi.
