Tall people - really discrimination

Tall people - this makes a point. It seems to be a case of you could apply the word discrimination to this topic or you could argue this situation is not intended to be covered by the word discrimination.
If you are tall - things like plane seats are very uncomfortable. Also you end up paying more for clothes. I am only 5'10 and have to get trousers with a 35 inch leg - means they always cost more. But I would not call that discrimination

oh boy. I'm 6'3 and so....er...um.... I wouldn't buy a house I didn't fit in. ffs!
"One of the councillors at the meeting actually had the cheek to say that she is only 5ft 3in but she doesn't live in a "diddy" house, which I find quite offensive."
the next person to use the words 'offensive' in a similar bleaty manner should be shoved into a sheep pen so we don't have to listen.
You're tall. Buy a house with tall ceilings.

I'm 6'5" and aeroplane seats are an utter pain in the arse, knee and back. Especially when the muppet in front of you wants to put their seat back, regardless of the fact that it means you will require knee surgery upon landing... B s
6'4", looking forward to 15 hours of hell on saturday. I fkin hate flying
but love going on holiday
I'm short(5'5) and light (57kg) and I'm annoyed that I only get a limited baggage allowance, surely They should make an average weight say 80kg, if you weigh less then you can bring the difference in as luggage weight
after all they make fat people buy more seats, Shouldn't I get an advantage from taking up less space? Bah they only discriminate to either save themselves money/hassle or to make money, theiving scumbags.

I think reclining seats should be abolished. They make so little difference for the person in the compared to the inconvenience for the person sat behind!

Chim_Knee is 6'3" and he has the same problem...we often find ourselves playing musical chairs on planes as I have to move behind the offending person!
It helps that I am only little and can't even touch the floor with my feet!
edited to say - too late!

I'm "only" 6' 3" but the seat back thing REALLY annoys me.
I nearly got thrown off a flight back from the US a few years ago for going completely and utterly mental after 4 hours of having some short arse yank keep wanting to put his seat back and calling the stewardess telling her that I wasn't letting him.
...Nevermind that my
ing knees were in the way and are non-adjustable - t
t! As you can see, I'm completely over it now.

How far up do you pull them? I'm 6', 33" leg is ample for me.
In answer to the above:
If I wear completely flat shoes I could just get away with 33 (from the top to ankle). But I like small heels hence 35. I do fall over my 37 inch pair though!
I also find if weraing heals that tables are too high or you could say the chair is too high for the table -s olution = take shoes off.

Simple (but expensive) answer to airline seat problems is First Class
Not all of us can afford anything other than cattle class though
My solution to this is either to a) turn up early and try to get a 'good' seat (exits, etc) or,b) when the seatbelt sign goes out to wedge my knees firmly into back of seat in front so that the person in front has no option but to give me a little space. Never had any problem with these but if i did I would have to explain that the reason their seat isn't going back is because of my knees and that if they want to pass me a hacksaw I will gladly remove them if it will make them more comfortable...

That's one sure-fire way of doing it. I don't think I could cope with anything over 5 hours in steerage any more (currently trying to avoid knee surgery)... Some airlines allow tall people to book the 'exit' seats in advance, but this does seem something of a rarity.
Given that tall people have been identifed as being in the 'high risk' category for DVT, I'm surprised that the airlines don't do more

Brian Culberts house looks like a small 18th/19th century cottage by that picture. Ceilings were lower in those days. Didn't he notice that when he went to look at the house????? Stupid idiots!!
I'm only 5ft and I'm too small to drive a TVR. Do you hear me complaining about it?
Well yes, you do actually, but that's beside the point.
