Afternoon all,

I found this piece of copper on the beach the other day and would love to know what it is... I picked it up when fishing down in the Purbecks, below the military firing ranges, my best guess was something from a shell of some sort? Any educated guesses would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry can't help on the ID, but it doesn't strike me as being particularly "military" though?

Will watch this thread with interest.....

I was basing this on the grooves in one side, they’re slightly angled so wondered if this was something to do with barrel rifling.

Don't think it's copper, looks like bronze or brass to me.

Or possibly a bronze neolithic phallic totem. To honour the god of broken penes perhaps?

Now wash your hands.

This is what I love about PH, 12 minutes and we have an answer to something I have never heard of.

The spread of knowledge on here is quite something.
