Mileometer fail

The mileometer/trip meter have stopped working on the speedo, speedo still works
Going to attempt to remove the clock, any recommendations for a repairer or replacement? It's a VDO gauge.

There used to be 2 Specialist repairers. One was Speedograph Richfield, the other I do not recal the name of.
One was good but the other had a reputation for taking ages for repairs.
Tread carefully.

Let's just say that 'Speedy Cables' weren't

If the speedo is working the drive gear in the gearbox and the drive cable from gearbox to speedo head is ok too.

Why not try opening up the head and looking inside at the trip mechanism it has probably been jammed and you might be able to free it.

Yes been thinking that myself, it's due an MoT in a couple of weeks, I'll getthat sorted then take the car off the road to investigate. Don't want to be left with no speedo for the MoT.
on a slightly different tack, i've been looking at the GPS driven ones, anyone any experience?

Oh and Speedograph Richfield don't do VDO instruments.
