Toyota Estima plus advice needed on buying Japanese import

Never thought I’d find myself buying an MPV but the Toyota Estima seems to tick all the boxes we currently need from a car. Plan is to buy the petrol hybrid version and the main selling point is the size of the load area when the 3rd row of seats are stashed plus occasional need for those extra seats when relatives etc are visiting. If anyone has experience of one I’d love to hear, whether it’s good or bad.

Conscious it was never available new in the UK so will have to be an import. Is there anything specific I should look out for over and above the usual when buying 2nd hand? Also insurance, I gather it’s going to cost me more for an import so any suggestions on where to go for the best deal?

Do you have FB? Might be worth joining the owners club as they often have the information you need.
