If they can't snap the cylinder they would break a window instead (if noise was not an issue) - not many lock picking thieves out there.
I'd argue that they wouldn't bother. Lock snapping is quick and easy, and anything that involves noise/work tends to deter most opportunist thieves. Our CCTV caught someone messing around with my lock a few years back (couldn't clearly see what he was doing) and after 10-15 seconds, he scarpered off. I assume he was trying to snap the lock but mine were upgraded when we moved in.
We have had new doors with ABS Secure locks and keys which we love because the keys are 2 sided and have dimples and don't have jagged edges.
The door locking mechanism is Comp Door and the these have triple locking points and the handle does not lift up to engage. Just shutting the door engages the triple locking points.
We don't want to get locked out and so we specified that the doors would NOT lock automatically when the door was closed and we have to use the key to lock. We have thumb turns in the inside so that there is never a key on the inside which would stop a key being used from outside.
It is possible to flick the thumb turn as we leave and the door does lock automatically but to avoid being inadvertently locked out we only use that if someone is still inside the house.

My understanding is that anti-snap cylinder locks have weak points that will still snap but snapping the lock does not allow access. If the lock had been snapped then how does the key holder get access?
If the above is wrong them please can someone explain.
