Well, I drive an S2 Elise (don't know if it's different for S1's) but when the first car at traffic lights, I can't actually see the lights - either over the windscreen with the roof off, or under the windscreen surround with the roof on.

So, my very easy solution is that I look on the hump that covers the wheel! It reflects the lights perfectly and I can see very clearly indeed - no breaking of the neck required!

When on the right hand side of the road, the right hand side does nicely, when on the left - well, you guessed it, the left is spot on aswell (my angle offset to the left wheel arch matches perfectly the different sight angle to the traffic light!

So, I just wondered, am I the only one.......?

My brakes must be that little bit better than yours cos I just tend to stop that extra yard before the line so that I can still see the lights

Otherwise i just sit and wait for the impatient goon behind to beep his horn - saves looking!

as an obstacle in my progress!
I just use my eyes, that tends to help - oh and if you stop before they disappear from view that helps too

A bit of a prat if I have the roof off and am playing 'Pet Shop Boys' at full, tinny volume....

Shouldn't you be in a 206CC listening to "Go West!"

I find 'Living in a box' by 'Living in a box' is particularly apt when sitting in a box at the lights.

Have the same problem of not seeing the lights change at times, when 1st in line. Had the ignominy of being hooted at by a hearse the other day because I didn't notice the light go green! What the heck was he in hurry for?

Lights not too bad for me but crash barriers on the entry to some roundabouts are a nightmare.

There is one near me that is perfectly set at eye height as I approach a lovely big roundabout leaving town.

It's normally clear and cries to be taken quickly. Trouble is I genuinely can't see jack until on the damn thing so have to nudge out like someone's gran just in case there is an artic' waiting to T bone me!

I was going to say that

I tend to stop a little further back if I am first at the lights then I can see them change. If I don't stop in time then I have to look out of the side window

There's an aftermarket opportunity here for Lotus, Eliseparts or someone.... the Elise ARMCO Periscope!
