Good Evening. I've just brought my TVR Tuscan 2001 red rose down to the south of Spain. Unfortunately it may be needing a replacement clutch soon. Starting to get that clutch burning smell on any incline start. Could anyone recommend any reliable and trustworthy garages on the Costa Del Sol that may be familiar with TVRs. Don't really want to send the car back to the UK if I can help it? Thanks

Gareth, from the dearth of replies I'm guessing no-one has any recommendations.

I have a vague recollection of a garage in/around Nice that had some experience of TVR (maybe called "The English Garage"??)

Having said that, I would have thought a decent garage would have someone sufficiently skilled to replace the clutch...and I'd go for an original AP item - which are hard to obtain now, or reline the existing.

How is your Spanish? Worthwhile searching on here for post on the diaphragm fingers and the 'star' washers between the 2 friction plates....maybe a copy and paste into Google translate??

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

the garage aka english mobile mechanics are malaga. ed blasi (ex tvr dealer) used to work there

you could do worse than seek out a classic ford specialist if there is such a thing there .. the gearbox is ford t5 so should look pretty familiar to those guys?

My son is a mechanic and he did his first TVR clutch a couple of years ago. He said it was a piece of cake compared to a front wheel drive car so as said, any decent mechanic should be able to do it .
