c.1990: Clipped hedghog (saw it flying over hedge in rear view mirror). Picked broken spines from tyre the next day.
2000: Flattened myxy rabbit at junction.
2004: Most sadly, struck speeding cat that sprang from verge after dark and ran over it with both nearside wheels. I felt so bad that I went back the next day with a little home-made crucifix with my phone number on it and hammered it into the verge. No sign of the cat though. Could it really have survived?

One pheasant, in about '95, in my Mk1 Golf. It was standing on the left hand verge, seemingly observing the Green Cross Code and looking both ways as I approached, when it started to wander accross the road, seemingly oblivious to my dizzying 65mph approach. (The Golf was green, so perhaps the bird was unsighted.) I swerved onto the opposite side of the road in avoidance, but caught the hapless creature square on the side of its swede.
There was a bang, followed by a considerable amount of scraping as the little bugger had partially removed the Golf's front spoiler.
I don't think it survived.

None of this was done willingly, by the way!!
Countless pheasants.

At least a dozen rabbits, probably more.
'Winged' (if that's possible?) a hare last week but I think it survived.

Oh, and on the way back from the pub 10 minutes ago, round a blind bend to find a barn owl sitting in the middle of the road. It didn't move until was practically on top of it, when it coolly decided to flap off.
'Tis a bit rural round here...!

two pigeons... cost me nothing for one pigeon hit windscreen, number two sitting in the road, car in front drives over the damn thing, as my car was lower to the road smacks straight into the grill, making me have to replace a £20 bit of grille.
one deer... £20 bit of grille and a crack on the bumper that will be fixed soon so cost tbc. was a damn lucky one for me and the deer, ran right out in front of me close to the car on NSL road, I break and swerve onto wrong side of road (5:30AM) that was clear, damn thing runs into path of car again... Thud! flew a good 15 meters through the air and landed at the side on the verge at the side of the road.
and too many close shaves with birds and cats running out at the last min. I swear sinse I got my car back I've had things aiming for me and as the car is bright yellow it's a bit of a surprise!

Magpie a few days ago - it saw me and took off a bit late and in the wrong direction, clipping the top of the windscreen. I think it was feeding on the rabbit that I hit last week!
I've lost count of the number of bunnies I've taken out despite my best efforts to avoid them - you can throw all the ABS and ESP in the world at them and they still manage to throw themselves under the wheels.
Recently, narrowly avoided a roe deer - twice - on the same stretch of road near my house, on the same journey. Once going, the second time coming back!!
Took out a fox once as well - literally came out of the roadside hedge straight into the path of my car with the impact coming before I could even react.
Cats, thankfully, in general seem to display some modicum of road sense - in general, they see a car and get out of the way as opposed to committing Seppuku, so mercifully I have managed to avoid destroying someone's pet thus far.

My mate hit a deer in his Reno 5, it was commented from the extensive damage it must have been a John Deere. I hit a suicidal hare 
in my then nearly new mgf and cost me £500+ to repair.

We were just driving along when "BANG" there's a 
deer obscuring the bloody windscreen. Whacked it on the roof and cooked the bastard!Where I live, rabbits, hares* (only really in Autumn), game birds and the odd grey squirrel are fairly regular.

Red squiddles, however, are locals so seem to be sensible enough to observe traffic rules. They appear to be be thriving ... which is nice. It's like an English / Scottish thing.
Now, I run a rule of every being having an equal right to be on this earth as myself ... so let's talk about windscreen kill!!!

Tend to avoid the big stuff! One Bird few into the windscreen on the M74, big thud, One squirrel ran under the rear wheels, and I think a "winged" a sparrow last night. I even avoid others road kill. Seems like agood policy as my father-in-law ran over a mangeled rabbit only to find a hollow bone letting air out of his tyre!
Where to start? I live in Devon, and drive nearly 100k a year. Various small birds (some when on my bike, OUCH) Pheasants, pigeons, crows, magpies, a couple of badgers, some very close encounters with deer (the only thing I swerve for, and even then only when possible). Hit a couple of dogs, thankfully both OK. Luckily not hit any kittys, but had a few close calls. Hit a few bats, one of them impacted just inches in front of my face, with its wings outstretched. If you've ever seen "the mothman prophecies" you'll appreciate how startling this can be, nearly shat myself. Dodgiest thing I whacked was a rabbit, when I was doing about 60 on my bike. I swear the wheels left the ground !

Saw a badger get clipped by the car in front of me last week, it was thrashing about in agony so i put it out of it misery with with both off side wheels Got out and went back to make sure it was dead (it was.... very)
Apart from that I've killed a handful of birds and a couple of rabbits via car. Via .22 rifle and 410 shotgun the stats are considerably higher!

... the cinq won. Badger must have got at least a very bad headache.
Was wrapped with guilt but went back half an hour later and no badger to be seen. I suspect it crawled off to die in the verge somewhere.
So I went home and cried.
Ran over a bunny not so long ago, and then stopped and reversed over it to make sure it was dead. But I was feeling particularly 'hard' that day, so it didn't really bother me.
