Is there any source of second-hand pickups that don’t have 200,000 very hard miles on them?

I’d assume not, as they are bought as working vehicles, but I fancy a single-cab one and am not really up for paying the new price for what’s a bit of a caprice.

I fancy doing the big knobbly tyres thing, and just having something a bit different.

Surely your budget will dictate what is available?

You will probably have more luck finding double cab ones with less miles since they were more likely used as family transport. Single cabs are more used for work purposes and run into the ground.

Thanks, you’re probably right.

I might just look into buying one new, they aren’t vastly expensive.

That's what I was about to post. Many people (me included!) buy a Wildtrak or similar just because it's a hoot. Mine's only done 10,000 miles in 2.5 years. (Covid stopped most of the cruising biggrin)

I’d not looked at a double cab because I liked the idea of the extra load space, but given I’m not buying for any particular reason I should have a look.

To be fair the load space is compromised. I also like the look of the single cab long load space thing. But, the extra cabin space is also useful.

The King/Extra/Super cab are a good option for having a bit of both worlds. But the rarest of the lot.

Do they have bench seats in the front?

No. Two standard front seats and then two small 'pull down' seats behind.

That’s a shame, I like the idea of the bench seat.

It looks like you're about to load the statue of Robin Hood and run it down to have it weighed in.

Bang to rights. I'm stealing from the rich to give to the poor.

Company I do some work for just acquired a double cab from network rail. Low miles, and good knick. Apparently they collect people and tools, park up and get the train to site.
