So, the situalion is such that a mate is looking to sell his M3. It is a car I helped hom buy some 9 years ago (it was 2nd hand) via a work colleague who was selling it.
Since that time he has driven around 2k a year in it, but has now come to the realisation he might be better off selling it and getting something more practical for family life (the joys of being mid 40s!)

So, he's turned to me and asked if I can help him sell it, (as he really isnt a big car guy), but I dont think taking it to WBAC is likely to to return the sort of value I think the car is worth.

Its a 2004, 91k miles, full service history (part main dealer, part independent), it isnt' mint or concours, but is a genuine example of a car that hasn't been ragged to an inch of its life, nor modified in any way. Just serviced and MOT'd when it should have been etc. It is the SMG version, finished in black.

Its currently awating an ABS pump replacement, alloys could do with a refurb, the radio display has a few LCD pixels missing (age related no doubt) and the leather is showing sings of wear, but I guess that can be nourished with a decent cleaner/conditioner.

So, I 've offered to give it a decent clean and polish, spend a bit of time making it look presentable and try and help sell if for him.

My thinking is that I'll advertise it on here but likely go Collecting cars route as well. Does that sounds sensible?

Any ideas on price? My gut tells me between £12-£13k.

I'd appreciate some guidance. I'm an Audi man thru and trhu, but have limited knowledge of BMW

Many thanks

Weirdly WBAC are giving decent money for these at the moment, people over on cutters and FB groups are finding that they increase their offer after a couple of weeks too.

For ideas of values the thread over there is useful:

E46 SMG Cab - least desirable of the breed in terms of E46’s.
Value wise - £11,000 top end

I thought it was SMG, but it's actually a manual having seen it today.

I've got it for the next few days to clean, appraise abd get some photos prior to composing an advert

Looking through some of the receipts, it's had new discs and pads all round 3k miles ago in 2019.
