Directions - Leeds to Gatwick

Could one of you kind souls give me some straightforward real world direction for the best way of getting to Gatwick from Leeds.
Need to check in at 8am Sat morning.

Multimap is invariably shite and gets you within 10 miles then goes to pot and I our hire car won't have sat nav.

So is it an easy run and what time do I need to set off? never been down that way before see.

M1, M25 (towards gatwick, away from dartford tunnel), M23, Take junction marked for gatwick airport.

Once you get near Gatwick the signs are more than adequate. Just make sure you know whether you want North or South terminal.
