Let’s see if we can make this one a 150-page epic thread!
Also to note, this weekend sees a return to the usual race weekend format, after “The Sprint” experiment at the last event.
Probably a track more suited to the Red Bull than the Mercedes. Last year was an intriguing two-stop race, that started on the inters on a drying track, without the weather it’s probably a one-stop.
Memorable even before the start though, when a young Dutchman asked quite a lot of his team, after binning it between the pits and the grid and requiring a couple of suspension arms replacing in very quick time to make the start.

Posted the same in the last thread, but thanks for taking the time to do these every race.
We should all just enjoy the thread and ignore any insulting or troll posts.
If people don’t feel able to discuss your own view without insulting someone then they shouldn’t post.

Agreed, this has been a ‘friendly’ thread in the last few years, and more than welcoming for new posters. We should all just enjoy the thread and ignore any insulting or troll posts.

There’s more than a few posters who bring a lot to the thread/s let’s not hound them out. For frankly one eyed views.
..
Softer tyres here should suit the Red Bull, Perez in particular..
The Merc and Red Bull are so evenly matched in Quali that Pole will become vitally important on a track which is difficult to overtake.
Hamilton’s after a record 9th win here..
Ferrari should fare well and threaten McLaren for best of the rest.
It’s hard to believe it’s going to be the mid summer break!

It’s always useful to find all the details on the front page of this thread, especially the session times and the official documents link.
Well done to @piginapoke and the moderators - and yes, don’t feed the trolls.

I would like to thank the OP for the sterling work he has done starting these posts and especially this one as he sounded particularly annoyed at the Silverstone comments.
I don’t post here usually as it can become terribly tribal. I have been watching F1 since the Raymond Baxter days and enjoy reading most of the comments.

I could see the way Silverstone was going on Sunday evening. Can't believe it's still rumbling on. Stopped reading or contributing on Sunday.
Anyway, back on topic, I suppose it's a bit early for weather predictions?
I fear the race will be a borefest unless it's wet, or wet/dry. Since I'll (hopefully) be in Kos, it might be difficult to watch unless I can VPN my Sky Go.

A lot depends on how fast those 3D printers and autoclaves can make all those upgraded parts Max has been running.& Both teams will need both cars to cover off the opposition as the undercut is very strong here.
The C4 are not a bad tyre for either team.
Low speed corners, mid range tyres.. I’m going Charl for front row.. but the big two should cover off the front & second row.

Good point about the undercut here: in 2019, Lewis surprised Max with a two-stop from second place, and went past the Dutchman with four laps to go. & Both teams will need both cars to cover off the opposition as the undercut is very strong here.

Could be a day for either Bottas or Perez to shine in the teamwork role.
Without continuing he previous thread, Max’s car is definitely going to be another factor. There’s clearly going to be very little of the last car carried over, with even some rumours about the PU components not making it, and there were quite a few one-off bits they’ve been testing that hadn’t even made Perez’s car at Silverstone. The carbon shop at MK are all going to be on overtime as we speak!

It'll say a lot about where b-spec car Perez is it at if they get all the unobtanium max spec parts ready for Hungary!& Both teams will need both cars to cover off the opposition as the undercut is very strong here.

After "you know what" at "you know where", it will be interesting to see if either one changes their approach for next weekend.
Verstappen will have a point to prove, and I think Red Bull will try and drive strategy, rather than what happened here a few years ago, and in Barcelona.
Critical weekend for Bottas, if the decision hasn't already been made, it's the last race before the summer break.
