Help Venue/Bar ideas for b'day party - London

Hi Folks,

I need ideas for a cool/funky bar in Central London-ish for a 29th b'day party in a couple of weeks on a Saturday night, somewhere that is NOT full of "kiddies or chavs" where people can come in without any probs or hassles no guest list etc, a late night license would be a great advantage ...

so far I've thought of TownHouse in Knightsbridge, Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill, The Player in Soho or may be Trailer Happiness also in Notting Hill...

Any more ideas???

Townhouse great, but very small. I really like The Player, but it has been a while since I went.

The Langley in Covent Garden can be great if they open up the back bar (usually reserved for large private parties I think) - great totty, and nice friendly staff. Go on Saturday though - on Friday full of post-work crowd getting loudly mullered.

The Bedouin (sp?) Bar opposite Smithfield's meat market is worth a shot. It used to be called the Bed Bar.

They do guest lists (£5 after 11pm), dance floor downstairs and loads of space on the ground and mezzanine floor. From recollection they close at around 3am so you can always go round to Fabric or Turnmills after

Alterntively if you fancy a cocktail bar Sosho Match on Tabernacle St (Finsbury Sq end) is a good venue. They've got a seprate bar you can hire downstairs and they supply one door man, two cocktail bar men and a waitress but you need make sure that the bar take is over £2k or you'll be liable to make up the difference. To give you an idea I had my 30th in there, just under 100 people showed and they took over £4.5k.
