We have a plan to get a nice car for around £40k. S Class coupe fits as does a C63. The second car would be a small petrol or EV for the station (needs to be good as my wife commutes and hates scruffy cars).

2nd car could be a Leaf.

Are we wasting money on a 4 or 5 year old Merc, HP with a balloon to finance 10% deposit, or is there a better deal brand new or pre-reg?

I'm set on an AMG Merc. C43 would suffice, just about, as I know in 18 months we can upgrade again.

Are there good deals on C Class AMG as they about to get a new model? Same with the E Class.

I'm not used to buying new as I've been a motability customer for many years. Last new car was a 52 R32 (I miss that car).

Thanks in advance.

Budget; Up to £10k deposit and around £450pcm

Edit; I would consider a B5 Alpina or M5

If you're not going for a full fat AMG then I'd be looking at the E53 rather than the C43, it's the better package.

So you are going to spend 10k deposit and upto 400pcm on a used car pcp.

Omfg get a pers loan...if you can. Average 3.3 apr against whatever dogst the dealers are trying to flog you.

How long do you plan on having the car for? 18 months? There may be better ways of financing this vs. HP.
