Evening all,

Extremely exciting day as I picked up my first larger CC bike after passing my Mod 2.

Forgive the state of the garage!

It's a 2003 Bandit 1200S K3, 23K miles, local to me and £1.9K. Cosmetically needs a tad TLC but mechanically very solid with new chain, new sprocket and a few other bits.

Been out for a 70 mile blast around the countryside and love it despite not daring to get it over 6000rpm yet... Taking alittle getting used to as has about 50kg extra on top of the little Varadero I was using before but also about 10 times the power.

After the run decided to give the bike a good clean and respray the engine in VHT matt black as the original was peeling alittle.

Front forks are next for painting as alittle pitted as you can see but trying to decide whether to go with matt black like the engine or stick with silver, what do you lot think?

Anyways, very nice to finally be in the club properly and stay safe out there everyone.

Top choice, enjoy!

As close to stock silver as you can get IMO, one day you will want to sell it and matt black will put some people off.

Congratulations, vastly more power than your previous. Make sure you tour on it far and wide!

A lot of riders will never go over 6,000rpm on a 1200, so don't feel like you have to! The beauty of big engines is the relaxed riding style they permit. Good luck and have fun.
