Arnold Clark pre-reg prices
Discussion
A bit late to this post, but they will not move on screen price..... You just need to get a decent trade in price.
The wife picks up her new 308 tomorrow - 7K off retail price (whis was stupid high anyway) 10 miles on the clock, decent price on trade in (Already checked on Mway, wbac etc) "Product Consultant"... gave us figures after usual fannying about with Sales Manager - I said we would pay deposit immediately IF they gave us another £300, they agreed.
Used Car market is mental at the moment - New car deliveries are taking forever becuase of semi conductor issue (Been waiting on my new co car for 4 months now, still no sign of it)
I work in the IT side with one of the largest groups in the UK - The figures sales are returning at the moment are phenomenal.

Thanks for that, some good insights there. We can’t complain, our previous car would have gone straight to auction and if not would have required a fair bit of work to make it shine. We almost bought a low mileage 68 reg unseen from a car supermarket down south but the connection between cars and salespeople has been broken - they told us that they only saw the car at a late stage and that it had a long scratch down one side which they would ‘touch up’ - not very reassuring. It seems that dealers only prep their cars at the point of sale. AC have some of the best pricing in the UK especially for pre-reg cars. However they won’t move any further as pricing will be dictated centrally. Gone are the days where I could walk into AC in ‘04 and get a pre-reg MG ZS for under £9k (which I believe is still going with 160k on the clock).

I bought a new van from AC last year...they had the best price in the UK.
Their sales and aftersales however have been...lets just say they have some work to do.
My experience is that it depends upon franchise & individual dealer. Ford & Vauxhall AC were mediocre>poor whereas the 2 Toyota AC outlets that I have used have been good. In fact, my car (bought from AC as a pre-reg as it happens) is due into Bishopbriggs tomorrow for service & MOT but the preamble (reminders/booking in) have been fine so far.Their sales and aftersales however have been...lets just say they have some work to do.
