It would be nice if this post stays, please just ask about anything technical about the car and I will be happy to respond.

Hoping next month to be the first Lotus into the 8s when I properly turn the engine up, plus its great to have lots of friends to enjoy it with.

on the 9.2 pass it was close to 600bhp and with me in it, 40kg of front ballast and full tank its about 850kg, we have about another 100-130bhp left to add but spent most of the time up to yet simply getting the car to leave the line cleanly hence not turning it all the way up

Love mad quarter milers. I used to do this with road bikes. Spent all day at Elvington, and finally managed a 10.9 at 127 mph on a more or less standard GSX-R100 slingshot Suzuki. On the same day that Adrian from Fensport ran in the mid 10s at about 145 in a 650 brake Corolla with a GT4 engine and 4WD!

The bike was wheelying and wheelspinning at the same time off the line! I was fking stting myself laugh

I saw the thread title and thought to myself 'that's another thing that I can't understand, people who say wheelie instead of wheelspin'

Checks out the first photo...........No, they mean wheelie.

Mad.

Fair play! You've taken some st on here over the years, some deserved and some not (in my opinion) but a lotus doing wheelies should be celebrated smile

If you were faster to every timing mark, why did you lose?

I know fk all about drag racing, BTW.

ETA, I've just realised you were asleep when the race started. Sorry.

Agreed. I've got no dog in the fight here, but the OP is clearly an absolute glutton for punishment. I can't imagine what the motivation is to keep starting these threads.

A very impressive car, nonetheless.

I was black flagged at Bedford for "drifting" but the Marshall said I was "rear wheeling it, too much"

no, its not something I want to do, in the end the change in gear ratio and 40kg of builders sand in the front of the car sorted it out

The engine is built and designed by myself, so my own designed pistons, cams etc
But in short, stock crank, forged pistons/rods, ductile liners, big duration and lift cams(300degree, 12.5mm lift) redesigned the valvetrain for more stability. I rev it to between 9000-9500rpm, the limit being on a stock oil pump, but I have a dry sump to go on the next bottom end that im developing at which point I can go to 10000rpm
Turbo is a holset with 67mm compressor and 67mm turbine, 16cm twin scroll with dual 40mm gates.
My own design inlet manifold with 2200cc injectors.

Pretty much every part of the engine has had some work done to it as ive been developing it over the years, its the most powerful one in the world as really its only me pushing it along

Amazing work and I'm glad to see it has paid off for you having seen your previous thread.

I'm intrigued by your home designed pistons, were they CNC'd? Who made them for you?

Congratulations on your work and I look forward to seeing you get into the 8's

This is great.

Got a lot of time for when people run with a terrible idea but execute it brilliantly.

Yes I had Omega make them for me, I have sold about 30 sets of them over the last 3yrs, about which about half had myself build their engines which have gone into all sorts of stuff
