Driving to FoS for the first time this year (usually train it), and looking for any hints and tips on routes - coming from London - and parking. I'll be heading down very early on Friday morning...any thoughts on when queues start building, for example? And any routes to avoid??

GO!

just follow the signs... it'll be fine traffic wise early in the morning... (talking 7-8am) traffic builds normally after that...

... a good route is via Midhurst and coming over the top past the racecourse...

Flanders.

Drive on the Left hand side and give way to traffic coming from the right on roundabouts.

Also a speed trap on the A27 on the crest of the hill near Fontwell; where the two lanes split for a section.

I always leave Reading at 08:00 for the Friday and arrive in the car park between 10:15 - 10:30, with about 20mins to half an hour queueing outside the site (tune in to GW FOS radio at this point). I expect it to take slightly less time this year if more are working from home/furlough.

There are apparently less people being admitted as well which should help reduce traffic entering the event.

Never had a problem, leave Leeds at 3-ish and arrive by 7ish. Through Petworth, straight into the car park behind the Porsche off-road bit.

Never 'queued' as such, just a nice train of good fun cars all off to the show cruising through the villages.

Traffic management has always been very good in my experience.

I expect no problems this year either.

I don't know what you are driving, but if it is not an 4x4 I'd carefully consider whether or not to use this car park - a heck of a lot of rain has fallen on Sussex over the last couple of weeks, and even in no more falls before the weekend, I fully expect this carpark, which is on a hill, to quickly become a quagmire....
