Supercar for regular use?
Discussion
My wife wants her first ever sports car of note and wants something easy to use and not too radical. 991 turbo and R8 V10 seem natural choices. But would the twin turbo flat 6 or V10 naturally aspirated get your money? Any other cars come to mind? No Evoras or the like. Needs to be roomy inside and have big and effortless power. No Exiges!! Nissan GTR deserves a shout?
I have a 996TT and an R8 V10 (Gen1 Manual)... granted the 996 is a much older car than the 991 but I think both would be excellent choices. Both have been daily drives and the R8 is the one that fulfills that job most of the time now.
Does she need a 2+2?
Luggage space in the R8 isn't great, so those back seats might be handy. You can also put a roof rack on a 911 which is a deal maker/breaker for me (bikes).
In my experience the R8 gets more attention (but still less than my TVR's did)... well except for when I have the roof rack on the 911 for a trip to B&Q!
I guess at your budget you'll have a bigger choice of R8's than 991TT's? Not checked tbh.

I'd say the GT-R has to be in at least for a test drive as they're roomy & have effortless go BUT I'd be putting her in a Mclaren, they're effortless to drive have power for fun & because the early cars had niggly issues you can get a very nice one for your budget:https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104291...

Or you could go leftfield & get her an i8:

Thought about an Alpine A110? You’d pick up a new A110 legende GT with every option for £65k, they look good are pretty rare and having watched one thrown around a circuit in the wet also handle brilliantly it would appear. I think reviews have also been pretty positive.
Not really describable as roomy inside, and not really 8n the same class as a 911 or R8. Lovely cars but they don't meet the brief. I'd think, having driven neither, the R8 seems more special. An enviable position to be in.
All a matter of preference I suppose. If your looking for out and out performance, then something like the GTR will take some beating at that budget. Effortless, usable and reasonably practical.
That said, I personally just couldn't look past something like a Ferrari FF/California/599 GTB. All in budget, and I imagine a damn sight more special to own.

Yep - mine is the best daily car I've owned (ignoring luggage capacity etc). Very comfortable, very easy to trundle around town and very quick when you want it to be.I've had 911 (996) turbo / AM Vantage in the past and the McLaren is far better (for me).
Mine is only supposed to be a semi-daily car, but gets used 95% of the time. I bought another car at the start of March for "normal" daily duties - but that's failed completely, and it's barely been used.
ETA : Since we seem to have pics of other types of car.........
