No, I get mine done down in London.

However, today I found out that Honda are withdrawing the extended warranty that they offered, despite me asking the question when I bought it and Honda confirming they would be offering one when car reached three years old.

Pretty worrying that Honda do not have confidence in their product to offer a warranty. Their reasoning was that they could not offer one at a reasonable price !

That's hardly going to help secondhand values ...

For the number in the market, I would say that's quite short-sighted.

Maybe they intend to withdraw from this sector of the market ?

The next iteration of the NSX is just a couple of months from launch - it's rumoured to be a major model upgrade compared to the 2019 minor changes. The car has been withdrawn from sale in Japan, as it doesn't have the required safety features, so is being updated to meet this need, and possibly given an even sportier variant.

Mine is in Hendon as I type, got a friend to drive it down from Newcastle,

Its a full day for me to get the train down to drive it back, or its £750 to get it transported back.

Service- £1,000
Headlight - indicator failed - £2,500 less £750 G/Will from Honda as just outside warranty
Suspension damaged over a speed hump - £2,000

So £5,000...

I bought it with 1500 miles and I have knocked up 17000 …I am not happy with this one dealer set up

The failure of the indicator light on the front not ideal to drive , but is drivable, its MOT fell due well before its service but what can you do ?

I did make enquiries and a main Honda dealer in Newcastle and can deal with the replacement headlight, but they have to order from Hendon , the service manual is available to all main Honda dealers and a competent Honda mechanic should be able to do such things.

As I said to a friend, if a tree fell on it, I doubt I would buy another - a main driver in that decision is this one service centre set up

I was quoted £12,500 and that was last year when the car was three years old and coming out of warrenty

Looking for feed back from the people that own the new type of NSX. The car is it worth buying second hand knowing that
it needs servicing every year down in London. The other one is the car reliable because its a long way to get it fixed from
Doncaster.

Possibly, my issues over the one service centre is exasperated by the fact I do drive the car regularly and have done more mileage than almost anyone else (that is according to the service centre in Hendon) I will do around 10,000 this year. Many I understand do only a few thousand miles a year and this restricted servicing may not be an issue

To get the car down from Newcastle to London and back would cost around £1,000 and if you are sanguine over that then the car should be considered.

It is a magnificent car to drive and at £100k to £110k for one with a few thousand miles is worthy of consideration and buying one I think shows that you are not swayed by the badge and have confidence in your own judgement to buy the right car. The first series in the 1990s was very much considered to be a thinking man's sports car.

It is sold at a loss to Honda, on average one a month is sold in the UK . Therefore, its servicing and parts will be in line with the parts and servicing of cars in the £200k to £300k category

To answer that question, I would suggest you get hold of the service department and get the truth from the horse's mouth. As they are not selling it, their views are the ones that matter and count. Even better still if you can speak to a mechanic who actually works on them

There are 2 dealers that can officially service the current NSX but both are in London.

You can get a warrnty from motoreasy once the 3 year Honda warranty has ended. However over in the US where the vast majority have been sold there has not been any reports of any known issues. This is a Honda, you will be very unlucky if you get a major fault.

You do need to remember that the list price for these was/is approx £150K, so parts are going to be on the expensive side. But in comparison a Mercedes SLR Mclaren (cost £150K when new) gearbox is over £30K plus fitting. The NSX is only £25K incl fitting.

With regards to servicing after the 3 years I reckon Hendy (Southampton area) could do it, Litchfield in the midlands. It's really only the engine that needs to be touched, and as long as they know where the (IIRC) 7 drain plugs are it should be no more difficult than a Nissan GTR or a Lexus.

Well, the part took four weeks to come in - had to come from the US - so I don't think it is that common occurrence. If it was, parts would be held in the main centre for the distribution of parts for the NSX which is in Belgium

what insurance companies are people using, just got a quote and they are asking for a tracker
to be fitted ?

I have a tracker fitted, and I pay around £1200, per annum in insurance but carry a £5,000 excess - I have cover with Admiral on their multi car policy. I am boring and at 60 they like me even more

If I came in from another planet and was asked to calculate the premium, mindful of the costs of parts for this car I would have thought the premium would be a great deal more, but obviously I would be wrong

I do find it puzzling how a very large insurer armed with decades of claims experience and advanced computer modelling techniques can set a premium on a car where the costs on a very minor accident , I suspect will be of the order of £7,500 plus can set a premium sub £700.

My partner has a Bentley Continental convertible from 2017, and she pays £489 with Admiral - with an excess of £5,000

I would love someone with actuarial knowledge to come on here and explain this away

I dont understand it either.
I have an NSX, two Astons and a Porsche on Multi Car, all around the £600 mark, with my under 25 daughter as a named driver on it. The Range Rover Sport I have on it is £1100 and no under 25 can drive it.

I have just sold my 991.2 GT3 and it was cheaper to insure than a NSX. I could understand having a tracker on that car as
the parts can be sold to fit other Porsches but the market for the NSX is so limited.
