Any good tricks ? I've had about 4-5 hours sleep a night at best where I just cant go to sleep for the humidity.

Buy an air conditioner. I swear I don't know how one lives without it.

Sleeping in the nuddie and two fans pointing at the bed. Only thing that's working around here at the moment.

It is an absolute nightmare... I can sleep but its very low quality, and I always wake up tired.

When I've had the opportunity I've found that an hours 'power nap' around 5-6pm helps massively.

That's ...erm .. an interesting thought to think about.

I got a fan right on an open window blowing in cool air....and a load of insects intent on biting me Think I'll skip on that one tonight.

I'm sitting here getting eaten by all sorts of creatures at the moment... I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't advertise their presence by flying down your ear canal going 'vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv'

Bastards!

Have any of you tried that new Magicool spray? That works pretty well too, as it stays cool for ages after you spray it on.

I'm taking the Stella approach to sleeping tonight

A couple more bottles and it will work just fine!

sounds wierd, but i used to throw a half pint of water on my pillow, and then put my head on it. it seemed to work, and i was never too warm in bed

Yeah but I'd wake up halfway through the night and think I'd done a 'Trainspotting' or something

The benefits of sash windows - huge opening area.

I open them top and bottom, open a window downstairs (or the back door), and only close the lower window/door when I go to bed. The resultant breeze cools my bedroom right down.

A fan in the room circulating air before you go to bed works wonders.

Yep, I find that usually does the trick... 12 hour shift followed by breakfast, bathroom & bed!

I have a rather naff ceiling fan (left by the previous owner of my house I hasten to add), it doesnt look great but it certainly makes things more pleasant for those really humid nights/days!

An electric fan makes a huge difference. It can however take a little while getting used to the breeze/noise it generates.

Another trick is to hang a damp sheet in front of the fan so that the air passes across the sheet, the evaporation of the water from the sheet cools the air a good deal more.

Finally, take a cold shower before bed. Start with it warm and then turn the temp down until you are properly shivering. Towel off and jump into bed, if you get your body temp down low enough you'll be glad to get under the covers.
