Having a few friends round for a barbi tomorrow.

Anything you can add to this list?

Sausages (selection including pork and stilton)
Burgers (selection including pork and apple)
Thai chicken kebabs
Ribeye steaks

Corn on the cobs (covered in olive oil and pepper and wrapped in foil)
Beef tomatoes (cut in half and covered with olive oil, pepper and finely chopped black olives)

Side dishes:
Garlic bread (foil wrapped and done on the barbi)
Caeser salad
Puy lentil salad (puy lentils, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and feta cheese)
Selection of olives
Crisps (selection)
Tortillas and dips

Have I missed anything obvious?

Get a big leg of lamb. Butterfly it out or get your butcher to do it if you're a nob with a knife. Marinate it in chopped thyme, garlic, lemon zest and juice, chilli. Barbeque it when the coals are dying down spray with water if it flares up (it will do). You can even do it a bit on th ebarbi and finishish under the grill (good if you're doing 2)

Take it off whiles the thicker sections are still rare and serve it in pittas with the usual humous, roasted pepper etc.

The best kebab you'll ever have, a sight less effort than turning all those sausages and burgers and zero risk of food poisoning.

Crack open the Zinfandel.

Bon appetit.

all sounds delicious.
How about some grilled mushrooms- the huge ones. Coat them in olive oil with garlic, and black pepper and grill them in foil.
Or some fish, just some salmon cooked in foil- I personally like salmon with lime and dill. Or something like mackeral or herring- but more bones to contend with then.
Oh and rolls or ciabatta, I'm not a lover of ciabatta you buy from supermarket, I use the Wrights Sundried & Parmesan Ciabatta bread mix, its in a 1lb bag and you just mix with 11floz of warm water, mix in/knead and then separate into oblongs or squares and let rise for about 40 mins then bung them in oven, I know bread mix is awkward but I find that stuff really good to use.
Also, do you have desert? A Fresh fruit salad or strawberries and cream, nice and summery.
Hope it goes well

Tuna steaks marinaded in some concoction that the missus knows about.

If you're interested, I'll find out what it is.

If you can find them, some very large fresh shrimp. Grill them first (with butter and garlic). Let your guests munch on them while you get the rest prepared.

Not home made, but one of the best butchers in the country!!
He opens at 7am on a Sat and they are queuing half way down the street.
He had springbox kebabs which looked tempting!

Thanks for some useful tips for future barbi's.
I like tuna steaks. Might try that next time.

Cheers
