"Coverage of every qualifying session and every race over the two weeks of the TT will be broadcast online on a dedicated digital channel, accessible via a live pass."

Sounds great!

That's me working from hom during TT weeks!

Not sure what the coverage will be like as they will need a lot of cameras and will people put up with the inevitable delays due to weather?

It’s all great news for the event. The more coverage the better. I accept that the rain issues and delays are a problem.

With wet tyres is it really more dangerous to run races and practice sessions in the wet.

With rain, the issue is visibility over the mountain section with low cloud.

Visibility, can helicopters fly, can marshals see the previous/next post, etc

Will be interesting to see how much they charge for the Live on demand coverage; they need to be sensible, and not charge silly money.

You will never see them run on wet tyres.

The circuit is nearly 40 miles and covers loads of elevations. Very rare that the whole circuit is wet, and if it was the cloud would be low enough that the medical helicopter would be grounded.

There isn't a tyre in existence that can do 30 miles on dry roads at 150-190 mph and also manage 7 miles of soaking wet.

Remember a Motogp lap is about 2.5 miles.

That’s all very well, but the fact of the matter is that up until around 2012 they would run races in the wet. The IOM is on the same latitude as Cumbria, so rain is inevitable.

A lot has changed in nearly 10 years and there is no way you will ever see a wet race again. That’s life.

And I know that because I have sat in the control tower when the decisions have been made including back when there would be wet races.

Can't even begin to imagine how it must have felt sitting on the start line thinking about how wet the course would be later on if it was already light rain there.

Hats off to anyone whose balls were big enough.

Wonder if this is the precursor to an announcement that the Island will have limited numbers of spectators or even no spectators?
Or limiting spectators to being from certain areas of the world even?

Does sound ithat way and personally I think it's a good form of adaptation: plenty of people are likely to still be squeamish about crowds for the next while, we've no idea what's down the road with new variants and frankly there's likely to be such a demand for next year there'll be plenty of disappointed people willing to throw some money at coverage.
