Choosing the new sports car just became more of a challange!
Discussion
Hi folks,
Having ducked out of cars for a couple of years to buy a house I am now able and ready to buy a sports car. Well, looking 2-3 months ago my ideal car a (2015/2016 Jaguar F-Type V8 r AWD) was in touching distance for a private sale at £39k. Now, prices from dealers have risen 3-5k and dealers are actually on forums asking for cars as well as hoovering up private sale cars on auto trader.
I appreciate this is a supply and demand issue and new cars are not being manufactured due a shortage in materials (mainly quoted as being micro chips) but feck!
I now either need to buys a V6S which is in my price range or move to a Boxster s from 2015. I need a car in the next 3 months so cant wait 12 months to see what happens to prices in the longer term.
Other than the Boxster and V6S what would you be looking at? I
Criteria:
- I don't need more than 2 seats.
- I don't want anything older than 2015.
- This is a weekend car so MPG is not a concern and sports cars are definitely the preference over saloons and hatch backs etc.
- No more than £39k.
- Not crazy high mileage so maybe up to 40k miles ish.

Few 2015+ Elises on Autotrader in budget, I’d definitely consider one
Edit - or a slightly older (2014) Evora ??
The Evora was my last fun car and the Elise is too one dimensional. I’ll be doing European trips. I have 3 mo this so might just have to wait and see what happens in that time. Edit - or a slightly older (2014) Evora ??
