As title...

Doesn't need to be practical, preferably rwd, won't do a lot of miles.

My thoughts so straight to some sort of ///M car, e46 perhaps?

I do love an Evo though, can you even get a decent Evo for 20k anymore?

Go guys.....

The only Caterham I've ever tried was a basic one, maybe a 160? Still huge fun.

Elise, good call, didn't even think of Lotus.

Definitely not a TVR, not a fan at all.

If you want something different, how about a Vauxhall VXR8

Lotus Elise, Porsche Boxster , caterham is a good shout I had one for 3 years great fun but ultimately a bit to raw so this must make the Elise perfect. I fancy a MR2 with a 2zz or a k20 conversion, lightweight with a screaming N/a behind your ears , pretty cheap right now for a standard mr2 . Can you still get an integra for 20k ?

Not sure how much Ginetta £20k can buy but that was my first thought.

Or maybe a Z4M.

Same engine as the E46 M3, but without the boot floor issues, way stiffer shell and far rarer.

I'm biased as I bought one in late 2019, but there are some interesting other suggestions.

remapped 320d.

Great fun seeing how close you can get to the car infront. Also great to watch the carnage unfold behind when you swerve from the 3rd lane on the motorway to the exit slip road without indicating.

Get a gt86 and turbo it, with extra power, literally becomes the perfect sports car, although depends how you feel about getting hands on with it i suppose. If not, id suggest an e92 M3 if you can get your hands on one

Great shout but I preferred my Elise 111R over my VX220T can’t really go wrong with either though in my opinion.

You wouldn't, infact you'd probably be surprised at how high your self preservation levels are.

Most of the time my friends that have come from cars they actually are very calm because of all of the sensations bombarding you when you first start riding.

If practicality is not a consideration, I would go for the Caterham.

For £20k, you can get close to 400-450 bhp/tonne, an experience not many other cars can come close to. Look up the for sale section on the Lotus 7 Club forum, there are a few around your budget.

Ps. For transparency, mine is for sale there as well.

I'm guessing if the OP doesn't fancy a bike as he'll die a Caterham/VX220 will be off the list to because he may well suffer the same fate with their lack of crash protection.
