Hi all

I absolutely loathe BMW i-Drive but am considering a car with Audi MMI. At first glance it looks very similar, a rotary knob to navigate menus. Is it the same sort of thing?

Thanks

However, with I drive you can copy actions onto the ‘radio’ buttons. A useful feature.

Why do you hate the BMW I drive? Most reviews rate I drive above Audi mmi so if you don’t like I drive you probably won’t like mmi

I don't like the depth of menus, the layout, the interface, the controller button itself.

I have had an Audi from new for 3 years and I'm not a fan of the MMI on usability grounds. Moreover the free satnav map updates stopped last year, 3 years from the car's build date.

I have recently started using Android Auto and this is a massive improvement in integration and ease of use.
AA will be the same in any car. I imagine this also applies to the Apple equivalent.

BMW's I-Drive is widely regarded as one of the best multimedia systems around. If you don't get on with that, I suspect you won't be happy with any of them.
