We are thinking of selling our Porsche while used prices are high, and ordering a new one.

Lead time will be 5-6 months, so we will need a car, it will need to do a 300 mile round trip once a month from the wirral to carlisle, and then once a week about 90 miles to lancs.

Otherwise it will be just around town.

No idea what to look at, do we get a shed for about 1k?, or spend more like 5-7k for a newer one?, We will then need to get rid when the new porsche arrives and want something easy to get money back out of/part ex

Auris for £2k is all you'll need if you're not bothered about driving something boring for 6 months.

Or Civic

Or a Sport for something a bit more appealing

I'd say something like this ST220 would be a nice place to be while you're waiting:

I'm in a similar position...

Personally Id look at an Lexus IS250. Lovely to drive, bulletproof engines. My dads had his for over 10 years and aside from servicing/ replacing consumables nothing has ever gone wrong.

Decent well looked after ones can be had for pretty cheap and should be easy enough to sell on when the time comes.

All have plenty of toys as standard (Leather, heated/cooled, electric everything, keyless entry and start etc) Look for an SE L with the added Nav/camera & Mark Levingson sound system it's amazin!
