Removing split gear oil from tarmac?

Had to change a gearbox outside the house a couple of weeks ago, which wasn't ideal. During this I unfortunately split a quantity of transmission fluid from the old box on the tarmac. I have tried driveway cleaner, boiling water, fairy liquid and a lot of scrubbing but it won't come out.

It's now starting to rot the tarmac and the neighbours are not happy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this stuff out without resorting to getting someone to dig it up and put new tar down?

hmm betterware have a driveway oil cleaner product that isnt half bad.

TBH, the driveway cleaner stuff will have actually done more harm than the oil - dont use it on tarmac

Jizer any good? It's a water based degreaser that shifts most oils.

Don't know what effect it would have on the drive though.

Try loads of fairy liquid and work it in with a brush then leave a while before rinsing off,do this a few times over the coming months and it will gradually break it down.

Don't Gunk do a specific product for tarmac spillages ?

Hal-frauds or B&Q etc should carry them.

Cat litter works very well on oils spilt in the road

They do a driveway cleaner but it's not supposed to be used on tarmac. I have used it on tarmac however, with no ill effects ...

Second the washing up liquid + brush idea.

How do you split gear oil....?

Full sugar coke or Pepsi and a scrubbing brush will remove oil and fuel spills from drives. pour on the coke, and brush into the spill using a stiff brush.
allow to soak, then wash off with water
