Thanks Everyone for your replies. I may need to hold on for a while and hope that I can pick up a used MG 5 for what I am wanting to pay. I have a good diesel car at the moment so there is no urgency. I just feel that I should do what I can for the environment.
As above, great deals on the MG - lots with delivery miles for your budget.e.g. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101097...

If you want to do your bit for the environment you'll keep your present car for as long as possible. There's no friction. It's just an exchange of opinions.

I'd suggest researching the harm that diesel emission do first.
I'm talking about the overall carbon footprint, including manufacture and electricity source - using current technologies (which will obviously improve over time). The studies on this to date give conflicting conclusions, so it's worth looking into if it's a key factor in your choice of car. ZX10R NIN said:

The limited options in the used EV market is what is causing plenty not to venture in that direction yet.
We tend to spend £15k-20k on a used car which is 2-4 years old and run it for 3-4 more years before selling/trading in for something newer.
Being a car enthusiast, what am I going to get which had decent power (< sub 7 seconds to 60), gives me 400-500 miles of range without worrying about outside temperatures and has enough cabin/boot space for 2 kids with their associated klobber and a Dog in the boot for £15-20k?
Until that becomes a reality, we don't have £40k+ to spend on one of the premium EV's so its going to be ICE until used prices come down.
