Can I cancel my BMW order??

Hi All,
Around 3 weeks ago, I placed a factory order on a brand new M135i. I have since changed my mind (should of gone for a slightly bigger car) and want to go for something else.
Am I well within my rights to cancel and not lose my deposit or is it too late? Please advise.

You are in the best position to answer that question by checking your paperwork. There's no one here that can do that for you (unless you upload it).
Depends on the contract you signed! Only you know that, unless it's shared... Generally I would think they could have your deposit... if they wanted to. If they sold the car later they should refund all or part of it depending on what they have sold the car for.
With the semi-conductor shortage and Covid... unlikely your car has a build slot so they may be able to just cancel it anyway.
... Only the dealer will know... what they will say.... (oh and the contract you signed....)
The contracts are very one-sided though... the manufacturer/dealer can cancel at any time at the drop of a hat, point that out to them if have difficulties!

That’s exactly what I am doing. I’d like a 320i estate instead due to longer term ownership. I’ve emailed the dealership and will await for their response
I'd be very surprised if they told you that you'd lose your deposit. And if they did, I would probably tell them to GTFO, and find another dealer.
If you’re buying a new vehicle with them, it’s likely possible but you would need to call them to ask. Sooner rather than later
There will be a stark difference between driving a 320i RWD touring and an M135i so might be worth test driving the one you are looking at first, especially if power is important.

Definitely understand. I’ll be shaving off 115hp and test drove one at a rival dealer. Longer term, it doesn’t make sense. There will be a stark difference between driving a 320i RWD touring and an M135i so might be worth test driving the one you are looking at first, especially if power is important.
I cancelled a M2C order just before christmas as I found a better deal elsewhere (wasn't really looking but lots of offers advertised).
As my original order wall all by phone/email, I was able to cancel within 14 days with no problem due to distance selling rules. Other than them threatening to keep my deposit, which they eventually gave back, but I knew they could not keep it anyway, but waited to see what happened.
To be able to get my 2nd car quicker, I had to visit the dealer to sign the papers. Obviously they are aware of the 14-day cancellation process so deliver would be slow as a result.
All cars were in the country, so not a new manufacturing order.
