Redline fluid for diff? who do i contact?
Discussion
Hi,
Sorry, its me, Mr Questions again LOL!
Just had a chat with Paul at Wortec and amongst other stuff discussed sorting the diff wine on my Monaro.
He suggested Redline oil & that someone on this forum would have a number i could contact (think ive got that right? if not sorry Paul!)
Anyway, paul also was very helpful in advising a process of adding a friction modifier in small amounts until i got the diff to lock nicely on launch etc... this process scares me a little...
Do you think, with my knowledge (ive done suspension and brakes lots.. but never engines etc) its something worth tackling, or is there anywhere in the North West any of you could recommend..
Further more, does anyone know if just adding Redline oil & not bothering about the modifier would help with noise etc?
Sorry about this chaps.. but this is something i want to get a better understanding of and throwing it open on here seems like the best idea!
Cheers,
Mike
The wear on each cars diff will determine how much, if any friction moddifier is needed, as will the type of oil.
I would suggest ringing Redline (delta oils) (link on owners club web site) tell them your car, prob and they will suggest the best way forward.
Not hard to do yourself either.

Had big problems with my diff, clunking round corners etc. Oil was black and full of iron particles
Put in the redline oil and modifier and is now pretty good. May have put a touch to much modifier in as it doesn't always lock up when cold. Fine when warm.
Dead easy to do. Just 2 spanners, one for the drain plug one for the filler!
