I know this a well talked about subject on the forum, but everytime I read something about alloys for the S's I never understand what type of alloys fit.:boxedin: Will Chimera and griffiths alloys fit?

What do I need to look for when buying alloys for S2, please put this in easy layman terms.

thanks
Louise

The original wheels on the S series are the same size as the 15x7" wheels fitted to the front of Chimaeras and Griffiths.

AFAIK

The Standard wheels for the S whether S1, S2, S3, are Ford Fitment... 4 Stud, 15 inch, 108 PCD...

The S4 and V8S are also 4 stud, 108 PCD. They however have a wider track and rear disk brakes, which means upgrading to Chim/Griff wheels is easier.

Chim/Griff standard wheels are 15 inch fronts and 16 inch rears.

After market wheels....

1. You will need to keep the same external diameter of the tyre, so that the speedo etc will remain correct..
Therefore, if you wish to increase the diameter of the wheel you will need to reduce the profile of the tyre(fatness).

2. Most aftermarket wheels have an offset. This is the difference between the Hub and basically the inner and outer edges of the tyre. Too much offset will result in the tyre rubbing on the inner arch... Too little offset will result in the tyre sticking out of the side of the car.

Why would you want to change from the standard ones is it to make the car perform better or is it so that the wheels with match your pink hand bag
