I'm 23 and starting to seriously think about getting my first TVR. Obviously insurance can be a bit of an issue under 25. If you dont mind me asking...what is your no-claims situation, do you know how much effect your mods had on cranking up the premium and is it a 2nd car policy or main?
Any info would be really helpful. Thanks

im insured on another car for day to day use but to be honest i rarely use the run around. Im not the main driver on the run around just a named driver. Ive got two years no claims on the tvr which helps. I expect your insurance will be a bit better. I must have phoned 30 different insurers most said only over 25s some said 23 and over. Im thinking about getting a more sensible car now though. I might throw in the towel. Its definatly worth getting one especially being young. Im just to busy with work to pertform all the necessary maintenance.
Thanks guys. the classic line one sounds good. if anyone insuring for the first time with mannings they require previous big engine experience and if your a member of tvrcc it helps.
edited to say, anyone got the number or website of classicline. cheers

thanks for the info
Just for the record, you would have thought my insurance would be slightly better given I'm a bit older than you but I managed to get myself a court appearance and a 28 day ban (SP30) last year
apologies for the slight hijack kev s3

I was 23 with 5 years NCB when I took out the policy on my S3. I got fully comp cover (protected) for 8k miles a year and pay about £850 with Tesco. That was by far the best quote I got, all of the others were in excess of £1k. Elephant were second best, but the quote was still about £1200.
It's worth giving them a go if your young, the only thing I would say is that I needed to give the full reg of the car when I got the online quote as it wouldn't give me a price when I searched for the car using the menus.
